Welcome to The Century Cafe, a delightful haven nestled in the heart of Negombo, Sri Lanka, located at 25 Main St. This charming cafe stands out not just for its warm and inviting atmosphere, but also for its remarkable offerings that cater to your cravings for comfort food and rejuvenating beverages.

The moment you step into The Century Cafe, you're greeted by a cozy, vintage literary atmosphere that beckons you to unwind. With a beautifully adorned patio awash in greenery, it serves as an idyllic spot to enjoy your meal amidst the sounds and bustle of the city, allowing for a serene escape. Customers rave about the friendly and attentive service, making you feel right at home from the moment you arrive. As Marlies Collantes notes, it's a "really cozy and quiet spot" perfect for a delightful respite.

When it comes to the menu, The Century Cafe truly excels. From the moment you take your first sip of their expertly brewed coffee, you are transported to a realm of rich flavors and invigorating scents. Many patrons, like Alex Miranda, sing the praises of the cappuccino, claiming it is “worth every cent” of its price. And let’s not overlook the food: the muesli has garnered praise as “the best in all of Sri Lanka,” according to Jerry, who relished in its deliciousness throughout a 25-day culinary journey across the island. With freshly baked bread accompanying scrambled eggs, each bite promises a burst of flavor and satisfaction that makes it a breakfast favorite.

Don’t miss out on trying the bruschetta, which Erna Kindli highlights as “brilliant.” Although the tea may not have met some expectations, the delectable food more than compensates, creating a balanced experience that makes every visit worth it—although Jerry notes it can be on the pricey side. But as he aptly concludes, the food is a delightful balance against its cost.

The Century Cafe isn't just a place to grab a quick bite; it’s a destination for those seeking an experience. Whether you're enjoying a refreshing juice while basking in the sun on their charming patio or diving into a comforting bowl of homemade muesli, you're sure to leave with a smile and a satisfied palate. Best muesli in whole Sri Lanka!! We travelled in Sri Lanka for 25 days and did not found a muesli which could keep up with the awesome muesli! The bread you get to the scrambled egg is also really good. Not like the white toast bread in many other cafés. Unfortunately very expensive. But the great food balance it definitely!

Really cozy and quiet spot in the city center of Negombo where you can enjoy some delicious coffees and juices. They have a wonderfull patio outside at the end, which is very well decorated with plants and trees. Staff is friendly and very helpful. Definitely a good stop for a short break while you are in Negombo.

Found this gem out of luck. The very kind lady welcomed me with excellent coffee. Unlike many places that over charge, my cappuccino was 350 and worth every cent. Cute and cozy ambiance in a really beaut old home. Recommended to everyone!

We liked the cozy, vintage literary atmosphere here, plus the quiet garden in the middle of the noisy city center. The tea was not so good (could taste some mineral in water) but the bruschetta was brilliant.

Wow. If you are looking for a western breakfast, you will not be disappointed. Been traveling for 7 months and I think these were the best eggs I’ve had since leaving home. Owner/chef came out to make sure our food was as expected. The setting is serene: an old building tastefully appointed, fans, and a garden. Prices are a bit higher than local food, but fair given the setting and quality of the food. We paid 6500 ($36usd) for breakfast for five including drinks.

We found this place on the way back from the fish market. The ambiance is nice and relaxing. Excellent coffee and nice fries. The two local young cooks are very shy and nice. If I had time I would like to come to this place every day.

Yummi!! First of all, the place has an new owner, which not just the Cafe, but also does Sri Lankan cooking classes in there. The breakfast, especially the Sri Lankan Breakfast was absolutely amazing!! Total recommendation here :) She was also very friendly and helped us (first day in Sri Lanka) with some tips, what to see and how to go there. We were planning to travel by train and she told us about an ongoing train strike and also look for an alternative ride (a bus trip) for us!! So if you have time, do a drive-by there. You'll love it.
